Classical Music Lowering Crime?

There are two professors at my school that are doing research on the effects of classical music on criminal activity.  Essentially the study is to find out if there is a link between the promotion and production of classical music in lower class neighborhoods and the crime rate in those areas.  It seems like a very interesting subject to work on.

I started to go over my reaction to music and how it affects the actions and decisions I make.  I do listen to classical music and find it very relaxing yet stimulating at the same time.  I started to notice that my body goes into the same series of events that would happen if I was studying or working.  I became very intent on separating every voice in the piece and then ripping out themes like strips or specimens to keep on exploring.

I have no clue how to formally analyze music but I've come to understand the importance of certain musical movements and melodic sequences in terms of what the piece as a whole is trying to evoke.  From my 'scientific' explorations is that music cannot promote violent behavior.

If given the correct tools, I think many communities can use music to possibly make their areas better in many different aspects, including crime.
